Installing Battery

1. Insert and position the battery.
2. Position the rail -6-  under the battery and fit the retaining bar -4-  .

3. Fit the four fastening screws -3 and 5-  and screw in by hand.
4. Tighten fastening screws -3-  . Tightening torque 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.) 
5. Tighten fastening screws -5-  . Tightening torque 23 Nm (17 ftlb.) 
6. Risk of short circuit! First connect the positive cable -2-  , then the negative cable -1-  .

7. Tighten the terminal clamps. Tightening torque 6 Nm (4.5 ftlb.) +/-0.5 Nm (+/-0.5 ftlb.) 

Information 

Before removing or installing the battery, place clean covers (e.g. cloths, paper, etc.) on the luggage compartment floor.

A defective or old battery can damage the carpet on the luggage compartment floor when pulling out the battery.

1. Insert and position the battery.
2. Position the battery holder and secure it with the two fastening screws -1-  .

   → Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)

3. Risk of short circuit! First connect the positive cable -2-  , then the negative cable -1-  .

4. Tighten the terminal clamps. → Tightening torque: 6 Nm (4.5 ftlb.)
