Installing Wheel Bearing

Information 

Installing wheel bearing 

  1. Heat the wheel bearing housing -1-  to about 80° C using a heating plate -2-  .

    Tool for pressing in wheel bearing.

  2. Screw large ram into workshop press (see TOOLS AND MATERIALS , Tool overview: wheel bearing, item  10).
  3. Position pipe T10230/14 -1-  under the workshop press and fit the wheel bearing housing flat on top. Insert wheel bearing straight and at the correct position. Fit pressure piece T10205/10 -2-  flush on the wheel bearing -side arrows-  .
  4. Carefully press wheel bearing in as far as it will go -direction arrow-  (check pressure gauge! When the pressure increases rapidly, the wheel bearing is in installation position).

    Wheel bearing pressed into the wheel bearing housing as far as it will go -arrow-  .

    Fit mounting plate with new screws. Tightening torque 37 Nm (27 ftlb.)
