Removing Coil Spring
WARNING:
Preloaded or pressurized components
- Risk of squashing or bruising
→ Do not reach into the danger area.
→ Relieve the tension on components before starting work.
→ Secure components to prevent them from loosening suddenly.
Information
Coil springs
- Do not press coil springs together onto the block.
- Do not damage the surface of the coil springs (corrosion protection).
- Do not use solvents to clean the coil springs.
Follow the operating instructions of the spring compressor 9823 manufacturer!
- Release relevant coil spring using the spring compressor 9823
.
Information
The countering wrench holder (welded pipe with hexagon socket) on the pressure plate with the locking profile -2- must be placed in the coil spring in such a way that the countering wrench -4- can be inserted.
The pressure plate with the locking profile -2- and the pressure plate with the ripple profile -3- must lie flush against the spring. If necessary, carefully perform the fine adjustment of the pressure plates during the clamping process.
- Insert the pressure plate -2- into the top half (as far up as possible) of the coil spring.
- Insert the pressure plate -3- into the lower half (as far down as possible) in the same way as the pressure plate -2- .
- Rotate the clamping cylinder -1- as far apart as necessary and insert it from below through the lower pressure plate -3- and through the upper pressure plate -2- .
- Turn the plunger of the clamping cylinder -1- through 60° to lock in the upper pressure plate -2- .
- During the clamping process, use the countering wrench -4- to hold the upper pressure plate -2- in position. This prevents twisting.
- Carefully compress the coil spring even further using the spring compressor 9823 until the upper coil spring mount can be taken out to the side and set down at a suitable location.
- Remove lower coil spring mount.
- Guide out the coil spring and upper coil spring mount with care.
