Installing A-Pillar
Information
- Before final assembly, make sure you fully understand all the work steps involved and carry out a trial assembly without applying adhesive.
- The bonding process can only be carried out reliably when a smooth and swift sequence of operations is guaranteed.
- Do not begin bonding work until all materials and tools necessary for later repair work are available.
- Apply adhesive.

Information
Once the spare parts have been fixed in place, repair spotwelds must be placed on the old spotwelds because there is no current flow possible in areas with a hardened adhesive layer. Welding procedures other than resistance spot-welding are not permitted since the thermal effect would destroy the bonded joint.
- Resistance spot-weld the A-pillar.
- Weld in the A-pillar.
- 4.1. Plug-weld using inert gas -A- .
- 4.2. Apply a full weld using inert gas -B- .
- 4.3. Spot-weld using inert gas -C- .
