Removing Brake Shoes

  1. Brake shoes
  2. Adjustment device
  3. Compression springs
  4. Tension springs

  1. Loosen adjustment device -2-  with a screwdriver. → Adjustment device

    WARNING: Preloaded or pressurized components
    • Risk of injury (e.g. crushing or bruising) when removing and installing springs.

    → Do not reach into the danger area.

    → Relieve the tension on components before starting work.

    → Secure components to prevent them from loosening suddenly.

    → Wear protective gloves and goggles.

    → Be very careful when working on the brake system.

  2. Remove compression springs -3-  . → Compression springs

  3. Disengage both tension springs -4-  . → Tension springs

  4. Remove brake shoes using adjustment device -1 and 2-  .
  5. Secure actuator for parking brake with a tie-wrap -arrow-  .
