Setting Blind Rivets

The drilled punch rivets and penetrated joints are replaced with high-strength blind rivets during repairs. Contrary to standard procedure, all rivet joints are also bonded.

  1. Copy the existing holes to the new replacement part and pre-drill using a 6.5-mm drill bit.
  2. Fit and secure body parts.
  3. Drill through both parts using a 6.6-mm twist drill Nr.201  .
  4. Countersink the outer body part using a suitable countersink tool in order to fit countersunk-head rivets.
  5. De-burr all bore holes.
  6. Prepare bonding surfaces and bond body parts. → 5X00IN WORKING WITH BODY STRUCTURAL ADHESIVE 
  7. The high-strength blind rivets must be set using a pneumatic blind riveting tool TAURUS 4 WE 1348  .

NOTE: Only use the prescribed blind rivets since these are sufficiently strong and have a special corrosion protection coating.
