Installing Rear Side Panel (Roof Removed)

Information 

• Before final assembly, make sure you fully understand all the work steps involved and carry out a trial assembly without applying adhesive. 
• The bonding process can only be carried out reliably when a smooth and swift sequence of operations is guaranteed. 
• Do not begin bonding work until all materials and tools necessary for later repair work are available. 

1. Apply adhesive. → Application depth: 3.0 mm 

   Working with body structural adhesive → 5x00in working with body structural adhesive

2. Apply adhesive and body sealant.
   1. 2.1. Apply adhesive. → Application depth: 3.0 mm 

      Working with body structural adhesive → 5x00in working with body structural adhesive

   2. 2.2. Apply body sealant on the sealing element -area a-  .

3. Fit and secure the rear side panel.

   Observe gap dimensions. → 5x00in diagram - body gap dimensions

4. Rivet in the rear side panel.→ blind rivet 000.043.207.59.

5. Resistance spot-weld the rear side panel.

6. Apply a full weld to the rear side panel using inert gas.

7. Flange edge of wheel arch.

8. Stick on new insulating mat.

9. Install the roof. → 510355 replacing roof
