Installing C-Pillar Reinforcement
Information
- Before final assembly, make sure you fully understand all the work steps involved and carry out a trial assembly without applying adhesive.
- The bonding process can only be carried out reliably when a smooth and swift sequence of operations is guaranteed.
- Do not begin bonding work until all materials and tools necessary for later repair work are available.
- Apply adhesive. → Application depth: 3.0 mm
Working with body structural adhesive → 5x00in working with body structural adhesive
- Bonding reinforcement in c-pillar reinforcement.
- 2.1. Apply adhesive (000.043.207.66).→ Application depth: 3.0 mm
→ structural foam terocore 1401 000.043.207.66
Working with body structural foam → 5x00in working with body structural foam
- 2.2. Insert reinforcement.
- 2.3. Apply adhesive (000.043.207.66) to the reinforcement.→ Application depth: 3.0 mm
- 2.1. Apply adhesive (000.043.207.66).→ Application depth: 3.0 mm
- Fit and secure c-pillar reinforcement and inner c-pillar panel using a straightening bracket.
- Rivet in c-pillar reinforcement and inner c-pillar panel.
Blind rivet (000.043.207.57) → blind rivet, 000.043.207.57
- Weld in c-pillar reinforcement and inner c-pillar panel.
- 5.1. Resistance spot-weld.
- 5.2. Plug-weld -arrow- .
- 5.3. Grind down plug-welds.
- Plug-weld c-pillar reinforcement.
- Grind down plug-welds.
- Bend up plate. -arrow-
- Spot-weld the inner c-pillar panel using inert gas.
- Install rear cross member. → 510955 replacing rear cross member
- Install rear side panel (roof removed). → 535555 replacing rear side panel (roof removed)
