Removing PDCC Reservoir

WARNING: Caustic fluids
  • Danger of chemical burns

→ Avoid contact with caustic fluid.

→ Wear personal protective gear.

→ Ensure that there is good ventilation.

→ If you do come into contact, wash off immediately with plenty of warm water and contact a doctor if necessary.

NOTE: Aggressive fluids
  • Risk of damage to components and surfaces

→ Do not spill fluids.

→ In the event of contact, wash the component or surface with water.

→ Replace components that are already damaged.

  1. Empty the reservoir using a suitable suction device. Use only one suction device that is used exclusively for Pentosin, not for any other fluids.
  2. Remove hoses -1-  .

    1. 2.1. Open and pull back clamps using a suitable pair of pliers.
    2. 2.2. Place a suitable absorbent cloth underneath and use a drip pan if possible.
      NOTE: Pentosin
      • Water hoses can soften and may be damaged irreparably

      → Always keep water hoses away from Pentosin.

      → Water hoses that come into contact with Pentosin must be thoroughly cleaned immediately.

      → Water hoses that have already been contaminated with Pentosin over a long time must be replaced.

      Information 

      • Close off PDCC lines using suitable stoppers if the reservoir is not installed immediately. 
      • Pay attention to cleanliness! 
    3. 2.3. Pull off hoses -1-  ().
  3. Unscrew and remove fastening screws -1-  on the coolant line.
  4. Unscrew and remove fastening screws -2-  on the bracket -3-  .

  5. Loosen seal -1-  over the reservoir.
  6. Press the reservoir and holder towards the engine compartment until the fastening screws -2-  on the reservoir are accessible.
  7. Unscrew and remove fastening screws -2-  .

  8. Lift out the reservoir and tilt it.
  9. Release and disconnect electric plug connection -1-  on the fill level sensor.

  10. Remove reservoir.
