Removing Spoiler Drive

→ Switch off electric power to drive motor.

→ Make sure it does not switch on again.

→ Check that there is no electric charge.

1. Extend the spoiler -1-  .
2. Switch off ignition and remove remote control (hand-held transmitter).
3. Affix adhesive tape -2-  to protect the adjacent areas of the spoiler recess.

4. Disconnect wire harness.
   1. 4.1. Release plug connection -3-  (-a-  ) and pull it off -B-  .
   2. 4.2. Lever off retaining clip -4-  for wire harness.
   3. 4.3. Disconnect the cable strap -5-  and remove it from the lid.

5. Unscrew fastening screws -6-  .
6. Screw off fastening nuts -7-  .

7. Swivel spoiler drive out towards the rear -arrow-  and remove it.

1. Loosen wire harness for rear spoiler at the left spoiler drive.
   1. 1.1. Unscrew fastening screw -1-  and remove microswitch for rear spoiler -2-  (-arrow A-  ).
   2. 1.2. Unclip wire harness for rear spoiler -3-  at the spoiler drive -arrow B-  and remove it.

2. Remove rear cover.
   1. 2.1. Press pin on expanding clip -2-  through using a punch -arrow A-  and take expanding clip -2-  out of the rear cover -1-  .
   2. 2.2. Release clip on rear cover -1-  using a small screwdriver -arrow a-  and pull it off the spoiler drive -arrow B-  .

3. Remove closing element of rear spoiler.
   1. 3.1. Mark installation position of closing element of rear spoiler -2-  with respect to the two spoiler drives -3-  .
   2. 3.2. Unscrew and remove fastening screws -1-  on closing element of rear spoiler -2-  on both sides -arrows A-  .
   3. 3.3. Remove closing element of rear spoiler -2-  - -arrow B-

4. Remove lower part of rear spoiler.
   1. 4.1. Mark installation position of lower part of rear spoiler -3-  with respect to the two spoiler drives -4-  .
   2. 4.2. Unscrew and remove fastening screws -1-  on lower part of rear spoiler -3-  on both sides and remove retaining brackets -2-  (-arrow A-  ).
   3. 4.3. Remove lower part of rear spoiler -3-  (-arrow B-  ).

5. Screw off fastening nuts -2-  on the spoiler drive -1-  .

6. Remove threaded bolts -2-  from the spoiler drive -1-  (-arrows A-  ) and remove the spoiler drive -1-  (-arrow B-  ).
