Completing Reconditioned Engine
Information
- Some modifications are required in order to replace the old, removed engine with a new one .
- Starting point for conversion work: Old engine is secured to assembly support and the new one is in the transport cradle.
- At higher mileages, components (coolant hoses, clips, etc.) must be checked for damage and replaced if necessary.
- Seals must be checked and replaced if necessary.

- Remove numerous transport stoppers on water and vacuum connection pieces on the new engine.
- Re-fit poly-V-belt and poly-V-belt for compressor. → 137819 REMOVING AND INSTALLING DRIVE BELT
- Re-fit belt tensioner for compressor. → 137319 REMOVING AND INSTALLING BELT TENSIONER
- Re-fit tensioner and deflection roller. → 137319 REMOVING AND INSTALLING BELT TENSIONER
- Re-fit air-conditioning compressor. → 873419 REMOVING AND INSTALLING AIR-CONDITIONING COMPRESSOR
- Re-fit the drive plate. → 136319 REMOVING AND INSTALLING DRIVE PLATE FOR TORQUE CONVERTER
- Re-fit oxygen sensors upstream of catalytic converter. → 246919 REMOVING AND INSTALLING OXYGEN SENSOR UPSTREAM OF CATALYTIC CONVERTER
- Check that all lines and hoses between the engines have been re-fitted and no components have been forgotten.
