Assembling Transmission Cover: Notes

| 12 | Needle-roller bearing with plastic sleeve | 1 | Always replace. Press into correct position using auxiliary piece vw 295 a and a suitable tubular piece (e.g. vw 420 ). The large collar of the auxiliary piece vw 295 a is facing the needle roller bearing. |

| 14 | Shaft seal | 1 | Fill the space between the dust and sealing lips with multipurpose grease and drive in with a suitable tubular piece (e.g. vw 423 ). |
| 15 | Torx screw | 1 | Tightening torque: 35 Nm (26 ftlb.) |
| 16 | Transmission cover | 1 | If the transmission cover is replaced, calculate the thickness of the adjusting shim S4 again → . Seal with Loctite 574. |
