Installing Hardtop Fastenings

→ Do not move the hood to the "Close" position by electrical means when in service position.

→ Do not move the hood to the "Close" position by electrical means when in service position.

1. Insert bracket.
2. Swivel convertible top to the front.
   1. 2.1. When operating the convertible top, make sure that the unclipped push rod does not jam in the convertible top mechanism. Both screws of the bracket are accessible in this intermediate position.
3. Screw on bracket.
   1. 3.1. Replace self-locking screws, position bracket with clearance of -X-  → Installation dimension: 8 mm  from upper edge of door seal and screw down with the fastening screws -7A-  and -7B-  . → Tightening torque: 23 Nm (17 ftlb.)+/-2 Nm (+/-1.5 ftlb.)

4. Move convertible top to service position.
   1. 4.1. → Move Convertible Top To Service Position 6101IN IN -CONVERTIBLE TOP SERVICE POSITION 
5. Engage push rod.
   1. 5.1. Press ball socket -6-  of push rod onto ball joint of main folding top bow.

6. Engage tension rope.
   1. 6.1. Press ball socket -5-  of tension rope onto ball joint of adjusting piece.

7. Attach cloth covering.
   1. 7.1. Engage strip on cloth covering -4-  at the left and right from below.

8. Open convertible top completely.
9. Install side trim panel.
10. Adjust hardtop gap dimensions. → 610215 ADJUSTING THE HARDTOP
