Installing Rear Spoiler Trim

Information 

Ensure that the pull tabs on the adhesive tape are still accessible after positioning the components.

1. Install adapters for rear spoiler trim.
   1. 1.1. Affix adhesive tape -2-  to the underside of the adapters -1-  .

      Information 

      • Observe marking L = left and R = right on the adapters for the rear spoiler trim. 
      • The position of the adapters cannot be changed once they are pressed in. 
   2. 1.2. Pull off protective film and position adapter -1-  over the relevant bore hole on the rear apron -2-  .
   3. 1.3. Align adapter -1-  (-arrow A-  ), press it into the rear apron -2-  (-arrow B-  ) and press on firmly.

2. Install rear spoiler trim.
   1. 2.1. Get strips of adhesive tape ready.

      A= 30 mm + 60 mm

      Information 

      Clean bonding surface to remove any dust and grease.

   2. 2.2. Affix adhesive tape -2-  to the underside of the rear spoiler trim -1-  . Place the pulling aids -A-  over the edge of the rear spoiler trim.

   3. 2.3. Insert mounting pin -2-  into the rear spoiler trim -1-  and turn it so that it slides into the guide -arrows-  .
   4. 2.4. Place spacers -3-  on the mounting pins -2-  (-arrow-  ).

   5. 2.5. Guide rear spoiler trim -1-  with the spacers -2-  and mounting pins -3-  into the slots on the adapters -4-  (-arrows-  ).

   6. 2.6. Guide pull tab on adhesive tape between the rear spoiler trim and rear apron out towards the rear -circular inset-  .
   7. 2.7. Fit fastening nuts -1-  at the left and right -arrow-  and tighten them so that the rear spoiler trim -2-  can still be moved.

   8. 2.8. Position rear apron -2-  on the side panel -arrow-  , engage retainer plate -3-  in the square hole and secure with the fastening screw -1-  . → Tightening torque: 2.8 Nm (2 ftlb.)+/-0.5 Nm (+/-0.5 ftlb.)

   9. 2.9. Close the rear lid.
   10. 2.10. Use the measuring gauges to adjust the rear spoiler trim -2-  with respect to the rear spoiler -1-  to the dimension -X-  .

       → Gap dimension X: 4 mm

   11. 2.11. Tighten fastening nuts at the left and right on the rear spoiler trim. → Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)+/-0.5 Nm (+/-0.5 ftlb.) 
   12. 2.12. Carefully pull out the pull tab on the adhesive tape -arrow A-  .
   13. 2.13. Check gap between the rear spoiler -1-  and rear spoiler trim -2-  again.
   14. 2.14. Press on rear spoiler trim -1-  (-arrow B-  ).

3. Install tail light at the left and right. → INSTALLING TAIL LIGHT
