Removing Drive Shaft
- Risk of crushing
- Risk of damage to components
- Wear personal protective gear.
- Do not raise the wheel suspension higher than the normal vehicle position (vehicle resting on wheels).
Information
The pictures shown in this document may differ from the original.
Information
- To prevent damage to the drive shaft, suspension subframe or transmission flange, slide a protective tube (shop-made) over the drive shaft.
Installation position of rear drive shaft
- Left side only: Break off protective plastic ring -1-
with a screwdriver.
Breaking off protective plastic ring (shown as an example)
- Position two mounting levers and carefully press the drive shaft -1-
outwards.

- Release central connector -1-
from the ABS wire harness at the body -a-
and disconnect it -A-
.
Plug connection for wire harness for wheel bearing housing
- Unclip ABS wire harness mounting -2- at the body -B- .
- Remove the brake calliper from the wheel bearing housing and suspend it at a suitable position in the wheel arch (do not open the brake hydraulic system!).
