Replacing Anti-Roll Bar Mount

Information 

• In the description below, all steps are shown only on one side of the vehicle (vehicle with PDCC). 
• The mounts must always be replaced on both sides of the vehicle. 

1. Mark the position of the mount at the contact point of the mount halves on the anti-roll bar. > Marking position of the mount

2. Remove mounting for anti-roll bar -1-  .

   Mounting for anti-roll bar

   1. 2.1 Unscrew fastening screws -2-  .
   2. 2.2 Remove mounting for anti-roll bar -1-  .
3. Applies only to anti-roll bar with PDCC: 

   Loosen clamping screw -1-  on hose clamp -2-  and remove hose clamp from the mount.

4. Remove mount halves from the anti-roll bar (lift the anti-roll bar up slightly to access the lower mount halves).
5. Clean anti-roll bar at the seat of the mount.
6. Install new mount.
   1. 6.1 Align mount halves using the hexagon profile attached to the anti-roll bar.
   2. 6.2 Check that the installation position is correct using the marking on the anti-roll bar > Marking position of the mount  .
7. Applies only to anti-roll bar with PDCC: 

   Push hose clamp onto the mount and tighten clamping screw on the hose clamp. > Tightening torque 12 (9 ftlb.) Nm  > Hose clamp (PDCC only) 

   WARNING: Wheel bearing housing raised incorrectly 

   • Risk of crushing 
   • Risk of damage to components 
     1. Wear personal protective gear.
     2. Do not raise the wheel suspension higher than the normal vehicle position (vehicle resting on wheels).

   Dimension -X-  : lower edge of wing to centre of axle (shown as an example)

   • All screws and bolts on the axle must be tightened in vehicle position. Vehicle position means: vehicle resting on its wheels, or the wheel suspension is lifted with a universal jack. -Dimension X- from lower edge of wing to centre of axle corresponds to vehicle position. For the current height values, please refer to the adjustment values for suspension alignment 

     > 4495TW ADJUSTMENT VALUES FOR SUSPENSION ALIGNMENT .

   • Visually inspect all parts. 
   • Replace self-locking nuts. 
   • Replace all expansion screws (screws fitted using torque angle tightening procedure). 
   • Use correct tightening torques and torque angle.

   8 Install mounting for anti-roll bar and tighten fastening screws. > Tightening torque 60 (44 ftlb.) Nm  > Mounting for anti-roll bar
