Removing Rear Brake CALLIPER

NOTE: NOTIFICATION 
Removing/fitting wheels 
  • Risk of damage to (ceramic) brake discs 
    1. Carefully guide the wheel towards the wheel hub, thereby preventing any heavy impact on the (ceramic) brake disc.

Overview of brake calliper

  1. Release and unclip connector for the brake pad wear indicator and remove it from the holder -arrow-  .

    Unclipping cable

    NOTE: NOTIFICATION 
    Removal of brake calliper 
    • Paint defects on brake calliper 
      1. Proceed with care when setting back the brake pads.
      2. Protect brake calliper from paint defects using a suitable cloth.
  2. Evenly set back brake pads a little using water pump pliers.
  3. Loosen fastening screw -B-  on the holder for the brake pad wear indicator cable and brake line from the brake calliper.
  4. Disconnect brake line -A-  at the brake calliper and collect brake fluid in a suitable container.

  5. Close off the brake line and bore on the brake calliper using a suitable stopper.

    Information 

    • Never use an impact bolter to loosen and tighten the brake calliper on the wheel bearing housing. 
  6. Remove brake calliper from the wheel carrier -A-  .
