Removing Front Brake CALLIPER

Removing/fitting wheels

Risk of damage to (ceramic) brake discs
→ Carefully guide the wheel towards the wheel hub, thereby preventing any heavy impact on the (ceramic) brake disc.

Information

To gain better access for removal of the brake calliper, turn the steering fully either to the right or left.

Release and unclip connector for the brake pad wear indicator -arrow- .

Disconnect plug connection for speed sensor.

Removal of brake calliper
- Paint defects on brake calliper
  1. Proceed with care when setting back the brake pads.
  2. Protect brake calliper from paint defects using a suitable cloth.
Evenly set back brake pads a little using water pump pliers.
Information

Do not bend the brake lines.
- Detach brake line holders at the wheel carrier.
- For easier access to the holders, turn in the wheel carrier as required.
Remove holders -1, 2- for the hydraulic lines on the wheel bearing housing -3- .

Mounting for hydraulic lines (shown as an example)
Loosen brake line on the brake calliper. Collect brake fluid in a suitable container. Close off openings of the brake line and brake calliper using suitable stoppers.
Information

Never use power tools (impact bolter) for loosening and securing the brake calliper on the wheel bearing housing.
Carefully remove brake calliper from the wheel carrier -arrows- .
