Installing Upper Trailing Arm

Dimension 1 - centre of wheel to lower edge of wing (rear axle shown)

• All screws and threaded joints on the axle must be tightened in vehicle position. Vehicle position means: vehicle standing on its wheels or the wheel suspension is raised with a universal vehicle lift. Measurement -1- from the lower edge of the wing to the middle of the vehicle axle corresponds to vehicle position. The current height values can be found in

  . Always observe the following points! 

• On vehicles with air springs, the respective air spring must be bled using the Porsche System Tester. 

  > WM, 4301IN BLEEDING AND FILLING THE LEVELLING SYSTEM

• Screws and nuts are Geomet-coated and must not be greased. 

1. Insert axle support -2-  and fit and tighten screws -1-  .

   > Initial tightening 50 (37 ftlb.) Nm -- > Final tightening + 180°  --

   The ball joint pin must be pointing downwards.

   Fastening screws for upper axle support

   Information 

   The dimension is measured as follows:

   • Always check the installation dimension when installing the upper axle support. 
   • Centre of ball joint (upper side) 
   • To the lower double panel (panel closest to the control arm) 
2. Always check that the upper axle support is fitted in installation position.

   Installation position dimension -X-  : > Length 118.5 mm +/- 6 mm  --

   • Upper side of ball joint -1- 
   • Double panel -2-

3. Fit level sensor holder on upper axle support.

   > 431855 REPLACING FRONT LEVEL SENSOR

4. Clip in ABS wire harness -1-  at the body -A-.
