Installing Lines For ATF Cooling

Installation location of ATF lines

1  Line from ATF heat exchanger to ATF thermostat
2  Line from automatic transmission to ATF thermostat
3  Line from ATF heat exchanger to automatic transmission
4  ATF heat exchanger
5  ATF thermostat

Installation of line -1- -1-. 

  1. Remove engine carrier.

    > 103019 Removing and installing engine carrier - section on "REMOVING "

  2. Insert ATF lines into the vehicle.
  3. Fit holder -1-  for ATF lines at the rear of the engine and screw in and tighten fastening screw to > Tightening torque 10 (7.5 ftlb.) Nm  --.

  4. Fit ATF lines at the front of the engine, fit holder -1-  and tighten to > Tightening torque 10 (7.5 ftlb.) Nm  --.

  5. Insert ATF lines -3-  into the thermostat -4-  .

  6. Place holder -2-  for ATF lines -3-  to the ATF thermostat -4-  in position.

    Ensure that the lines are seated correctly.

  7. Fit the fastening screw -1-  and tighten to > Tightening torque 8 (6 ftlb.) Nm  .

  8. Install engine carrier.

    > 103019 Removing and installing engine carrier - section on "INSTALLING "

  9. Lower the automatic transmission.

    > 373519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING TRANSMISSION - section on "Removing"

  10. Secure holder -1  for ATF lines to the front of the transmission.

    Screw in fastening screw and tighten to > Tightening torque 23 (17 ftlb.) Nm  --.

  11. Clip ATF line into the holder -A-  .
  12. Position the front ATF line -2-  on the ATF heat exchanger -3-  .

    Ensure that the lines are seated correctly.

  13. Fit fastening screws and tighten to > Tightening torque 8 (6 ftlb.) Nm  --.
  14. Lift the automatic transmission using a suitable jack.

    Fit fastening screws for transmission cross member.

    Installation of line -2- -2-. 

  15. Remove engine carrier.

    > 103019 Removing and installing engine carrier - section on "REMOVING "

  16. Insert ATF lines into the vehicle.
  17. Fit holder -1-  for ATF lines at the rear of the engine and screw in and tighten fastening screw to > Tightening torque 10 (7.5 ftlb.) Nm  --.

  18. Fit ATF lines at the front of the engine, fit holder -1-  and tighten to > Tightening torque 10 (7.5 ftlb.) Nm  --.

  19. Insert ATF lines -3-  into the thermostat -4-  .

  20. Place holder -2-  for ATF lines -3-  to the ATF thermostat -4-  in position.

    Ensure that the lines are seated correctly.

  21. Fit the fastening screw -1-  and tighten to > Tightening torque 8 (6 ftlb.) Nm  --.
  22. Install engine carrier.

    > 103019 Removing and installing engine carrier - section on "INSTALLING "

  23. Position ATF lines -2-  with holder in the transmission -3-  .

    Ensure that the lines are seated correctly.

    Detaching ATF lines at bottom

  24. Fit fastening screw -1-  and tighten to > Tightening torque 20 (15 ftlb.) Nm  --.
  25. Fit fastening screws -1-  for the heat shield -2-  on the automatic transmission -3-  and tighten to > Tightening torque1'5 (11 ftlb.) Nm  --.

    Installation of line -3- -3-. 

  26. Lower the automatic transmission.

    > 373519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING TRANSMISSION - section on "Removing"

  27. Position the rear ATF line -2-  on the ATF heat exchanger -3-. 

    Ensure that the lines are seated correctly.

  28. Fit fastening screws -1-  and tighten to > Tightening torque 8 (6 ftlb.) Nm  .
  29. Position ATF lines -2-  with holder in the transmission -3-. 

    Ensure that the lines are seated correctly.

    Detaching ATF lines at bottom

  30. Fit fastening screw -1-  and tighten to > Tightening torque 20 (15 ftlb.) Nm  --.
  31. Fit fastening screws -1-  for the heat shield -2-  on the automatic transmission -3-  and tighten to > Tightening torque 15 (11 ftlb.) Nm  --.

  32. Lift the automatic transmission using a suitable jack.

    Fit fastening screws for transmission cross member.
