Installing Actuator For Camshaft (Camshaft Controller)

Tightening torques and assembly instructions for other assemblies (e.g. chassis, electrics, transmission or body) or for peripheral engine equipment can be found in the corresponding documents.
- Lift timing chain and place camshaft controller carefully on the camshaft > Camshaft controller on camshaft
. In order to have sufficient play in the timing chain, turn camshaft timing gear back and forth as required > Turning camshaft timing gear
. Place timing chain on the camshaft controller.

- Position fastening screw and hexagon on the camshaft controller and screw in loosely (it must still be possible to turn the camshaft controller) > Camshaft adjustment

Camshaft adjustment
1 Screw, M12 Tighten fully after setting timing . Always use a new screw. 2 Camshaft adjuster with integrated hexagon for countering 3 Hydraulic valve for camshaft control 4 Screw, M5 x 12 - Screw in the four screws of the sprockets and camshaft controller as far as possible (it must still be possible to turn the sprockets and camshaft controller to adjust the timing).
- Set the timing.

Do not tighten the sprockets and camshaft controller to the final tightening torque until the timing has been set.
