Calibrating Fuel Level Sender

Information 

The PIWIS Tester  instructions take precedence since the description may be different with later Tester releases.

The procedure described here has been structured in general terms. Different text or additional information may appear on the PIWIS Tester. 

  1. Connect the Porsche System Tester to the vehicle and start the System Tester. Switch on ignition.
  2. Select the vehicle type and start the PIDT.
  3. Select the instrument cluster control unit in the overview and press to continue.
  4. Select Maintenance/repairs. 
  5. Select Calibrate fuel-level sensor and press  F12.
  6. Follow the instructions on the Tester.
  7. The message Fuel-level sensor calibration completed successfully appears on the Tester screen.
  8. Press F12 to exit.
  9. Select Save fuel level sensor comparison values to rear-end electronics control unit and press F12
  10. Start the procedure by pressing F8
  11. Press F11 to end the procedure.
  12. Check the fuel gauge in the instrument cluster. Fuel gauge shows empty.
