Removing Battery

WARNING: Caustic fluids 
  • Danger of chemical burns 

    → Wear personal protective gear.

    → Ensure that there is good ventilation.

    → Avoid contact with caustic fluid.

    → If you do come into contact, wash off immediately with plenty of warm water and contact a doctor, if necessary.

WARNING: Static battery charge 
  • Battery can explode 
  • Electrical discharges 

    → Do not rub the battery with a dry cloth.

Installation position of battery

Information 

Switch off all loads and remove the ignition key.

  1. To remove the battery for the first time, cut the carpeted floor along the perforation using a carpet knife.
  2. Open the tension hooks on the battery case cover using a screwdriver.
  3. Remove the battery case cover.
  4. Release and unplug electric plug connection at the battery sensor.

  5. Risk of short circuit! First disconnect the negative cable, then the positive cable.

  6. Unscrew that fastening screw -1-  on the sheetmetal bracket and remove the battery mount.

  7. Unscrew the fastening screw for the battery mount -2-  and remove the battery mount.
  8. Pull off vent hose -3-  on the battery.
  9. Lift the battery up and out.
