Technical Background

This condition occurs by design. This is not a product defect.

Multiple conditions may cause this issue:

1. Ice/Snow: If ice or snow blocks the distance sensor, the ACC system recognizes that it is 'blind' and will disengage and display a warning message unless the blockage is cleared. Of course, this ice and snow will likely not be present during the workshop evaluation.
2. Featureless terrain/few other vehicles: If the road is featureless (i.e. there are very few turns and hills) and the radar does not see another vehicle or object for an extended distance or time, it will also assume it is 'blind' and disengage with a warning message. This is a limitation of the system.
