Subsequent Work

  1. Adjust the brake shoes to their basic setting and calibrate the electric parking brake actuators. → 468316 ADJUSTING AND CALIBRATING PARKING-BRAKE SHOES
  2. Connect the level sensor to the front upper wishbone. → 431955 REPLACING REAR LEVEL SENSOR

    Make sure that the level sensor linkage is facing outwards.

  3. Fit the wheel. → 440519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING WHEEL
  4. Tighten axle nut (drive shaft mounting on wheel side) (2-step tightening procedure!). Operate the brake while doing this (2 mechanics required). → 4X00IN TIGHTENING TORQUES FOR REAR AXLE
  5. For vehicles with air suspension: 

    Fill the air springs. → 4301IN BLEEDING AND FILLING THE LEVELLING SYSTEM

  6. Perform suspension alignment. → Suspension alignment, complete
