Installing Front Stabilizer

  1. Install front stabilizer.

    Replace all lock nuts. Observe correct tightening torques. → 4001TW TIGHTENING TORQUES FOR FRONT AXLE .

    1. 1.1. Insert the anti-roll bar into the vehicle (guide in sideways) and position it.
    2. 1.2. Secure the anti-roll bar (on both sides) -arrows-  .

  2. Position and secure the front-axle cross member.

    Installing .

  3. Secure the two suspension/stabilizers (connecting links) at the anti-roll bar. Always tighten the connecting links (suspension/stabilizers) in three steps!
    1. 3.1. Fit new M10 collar nuts on the connecting link joint (at the left and right). Counter when tightening. Observe three-step tightening procedure.

      Step 1: → Initial tightening torque: 50 Nm (37 ftlb.) 

      Step 2: → Loosen by 1/4 turn after initial tightening: Loosen by 90° 

      Step 3:  Tighten to 65 Nm (48 ftlb.). → Final tightening torque: 65 Nm (48 ftlb.)
