Removing Trailing Arm

  1. Loosen trailing arm at wheel carrier -2-  . Counter with a screwdriver 9546  while doing this. Then press off ball joint using press-out tool 9560  .

    To prevent damage to the rubber sleeves of the ball joint, coat the rubber sleeves and the press-out tool in this area with tire mounting paste.

  2. Unscrew links for headlight beam adjustment (headlight height adjustment) -3-  at the trailing arm (counter with an open-ended wrench). Left side only.
  3. Remove threaded joint connecting trailing arm to diagonal arm -4-  and front-axle carrier -5-  .
