Removing Lower Side Member Reinforcement

  1. Remove hinge pillar reinforcement. → Removing Hinge Pillar Reinforcement 
  2. Remove center side member. → Removing Centre Side Member 

    Information 

    Only make the cut on the retaining bracket for the support tube in marked area A between the openings. The cut must never go through the openings.

  3. Determining the cut
    1. 3.1. Determine the position of the cut -A-  between the openings (holes). Mark the cut.

  4. Cutting through retaining bracket for support tube
    1. 4.1. Cut through retaining bracket for support tube in area -A-  .

  5. Separating inert-gas welded seams
    1. 5.1. Separate inert-gas welded seams in areas -A-  and -B-  using a parting grinder.

  6. Cutting the spotwelds
    1. 6.1. Mill off spotwelds in areas -A-  and -B-  using a spotweld cutter.

  7. Separating spotwelds
    1. 7.1. Separate spotwelds in areas -A-  and -B-  using a parting grinder.
