Preliminary Work For Removing Spring Strut

  1. Find an access point to where the upper spring strut is attached to the body (three M8 lock nuts).

    On the Boxster  , this involves moving the convertible top to service position → 6101IN CONVERTIBLE-TOP SERVICE POSITION .

    Procedure on the Cayman:  Remove trim panel for spring strut mount → REMOVING TRIM PANEL FOR SPRING STRUT MOUNT . This includes: trim panel for rear → REMOVING REAR COVER and C-pillar → REMOVING C-PILLAR TRIM PANEL .

  2. Raise the vehicle → WM 4X00IN LIFTING THE VEHICLE (ALL MODELS)
  3. Remove rear wall cover → REMOVING REAR WALL COVER .

  4. Remove rear wheel → REMOVING WHEEL .
