Measuring Axial Play Of Crankshaft

  1. Dial gauge Nr.136 Pos.1  with universal dial gauge bracket VW 387  must be screwed to the cylinder block and placed against the crank arm.

  2. Press the crankshaft against the dial gauge by hand.
  3. Set the dial gauge to "0  ".
  4. Press the crankshaft off the dial gauge and read off the measured value.
Axial play:  0.15... 0.25 mm
