Lifting The Vehicle

  1. Drive vehicle onto the lifting platform. Check the following while doing this:
    • When driving onto a lifting platform, ensure that there is sufficient distance between the lifting platform and the vehicle.
    • If work has to be carried out in the front footwell, the vehicle should be positioned in such a way that the doors can be opened far enough.
  2. On vehicles with air suspension/levelling system: Switch off the levelling system.
    1. 2.1. Switch on ignition.
    2. 2.2. Press and hold the High Level setting button until the message >>Levelling system switched off<< appears on the instrument cluster.

    WARNING: Vehicle can fall down
    • Risk of squashing or crushing 
    • Risk of damage to the vehicle 

    → Do not place any solid objects under the raised vehicle.

    → Ensure that the lifting platform is prevented from lowering.

    → Remove solid objects before lowering the vehicle.

    → Raise the vehicle only at the take-up points provided.

    Information 

    When raising the vehicle at the inner jacking points, remember the following:

    • Before raising the vehicle at the rear, inner jacking points, remove the W-strut (cross strut can break!) 

    → Screws for strut (W-strut)

  3. Raise the vehicle at the four jacking points.

    Check the following for the jacking points: 

The vehicle can be raised at various jacking points. These jacking points are specifically reinforced and can raise the vehicle without causing deformation of the underbody. The vehicle must always be jacked at the four outer jacking points -1-  first. The four inner jacking points -2-  can be used for carrying out repairs close to the side members.
