Installing Front Anti-Roll Bar

WARNING: Caustic fluids
  • Danger of chemical burns

→ Avoid contact with caustic fluid.

→ Wear personal protective gear.

→ Ensure that there is good ventilation.

→ If you do come into contact, wash off immediately with plenty of warm water and contact a doctor if necessary.

WARNING: Wheel bearing housing raised incorrectly
  • Risk of squashing
  • Risk of damage to components

→ Wear personal protective gear.

→ Do not raise the wheel suspension higher than the normal vehicle position (vehicle resting on wheels).

Information 

PDCC chassis:

  1. Install anti-roll-bar mount according to the marking, along with the anti-roll bar.

    The marking -IN-  must be pointing to the center of the vehicle, while the marking -OUT-  must be pointing to the outside of the vehicle.

  2. Tighten fastening screw -1-  and fastening nut -2-  on the suspension/stabilizer on both sides of the vehicle.

    Information 

    PDCC chassis:

    • Steel flexi-pipes are particularly sensitive to kinking and crushing. 
    • Treat the steel flexi-pipes with great care when removing, storing and reinstalling the anti-roll bar. 
    • Make sure that the steel flexi-pipes are not subject to any mechanical loads during the following operations. 
    • When removing, mark the installation position of the lines using a touch-up stick. 
    • When installing, make sure that the clamp is seated correctly. 
    • The steel flexi-pipes must not be twisted when installed under any circumstances. 
  3. Fit lines -3-  .
    1. 3.1. Remove stoppers.
    2. 3.2. Tighten union nuts -1-  on the lines.
    3. 3.3. Tighten clamp -2-  .

  4. Position the anti-roll bar before tightening the fastening screws on the anti-roll-bar mount (= fastening screws for front-axle support) so that the highest point of the anti-roll bar is positioned at a distance from the frame support (not  the fold!) of -1-  .

    Dimension -1-  is → Control value: 86 mm
