Removing Cover For Rear Seat

  1. Remove cover on the underside of the seat.
    1. 1.1. For seats with and without seat heating:
      1. 1.1.1. Remove seat adjustment switch and cover if fitted. → 727619 REMOVING AND INSTALLING SWITCH FOR REAR SEAT ADJUSTMENT
      2. 1.1.2. Disengage the seat cover hooks -1-  from the metal frame.

      3. 1.1.3. Loosen the cushion clips -2 -  at the rear left and right and guide the cover in through the seat cushion.

    2. 1.2. Seats with seat-surface extension:
      1. 1.2.1. Disengage two seat cover holders at the left and right.

      2. 1.2.2. Disengage seat cover and seat cover hooks -4-  at the front.

      3. 1.2.3. Cut tie-wraps -5-  and one (metal) cushion clip -6-  .

      4. 1.2.4. Remove seat adjustment switch and cover if fitted. → 727619 REMOVING AND INSTALLING SWITCH FOR REAR SEAT ADJUSTMENT
      5. 1.2.5. Disengage seat cover hooks -7-  from the metal frame.

      6. 1.2.6. Detach the Velcro fasteners at the rear left and right and guide them in through the seat cushion.
  2. Remove tie-wraps, lines and connectors on the underside of the seat.
    1. 2.1. For seats with seat heating:
      1. 2.1.1. Disconnect electric plug connections for the heating elements in the side bolsters.

      2. 2.1.2. Guide electric lines through the side bolsters at the left and right.

      3. 2.1.3. Cut tie-wraps -8-  .

      4. 2.1.4. Pull material cover with heating elements off the cushion.

    2. 2.2. For seats with seat heating and air conditioning:
      1. 2.2.1. Disconnect electric plug connections for the heating elements in the side bolsters.

      2. 2.2.2. Guide electric lines through the side bolsters at the left and right.

      3. 2.2.3. Cut tie-wraps -8-  .

      4. 2.2.4. Disconnect electric plug connection for heating elements for the lower leg support.

      5. 2.2.5. Disconnect electric plug connection for the suction fan.

      6. 2.2.6. Pull off material cover and electric line.

  3. Remove cushion clips from the cushion carrier.

    Information 

    The cushion clips at the edge of the seat surfaces are made of metal and will be cut using side cutters.

    The cushion clips at the center of the seat surface are made of plastic and will be disengaged.

    1. 3.1. For seats with and without seat heating:
      1. 3.1.1. Cut the metal cushion clips at the edge of the seat surface using side cutters.

      2. 3.1.2. Disengage the plastic cushion clips at the center of the seat surface.
      3. 3.1.3. Remove cover -9-  from the padding -arrow A-  .
      4. 3.1.4. Remove remaining pieces of metal cushion clips.
    2. 3.2. For seats with seat heating and air conditioning:
      1. 3.2.1. Cut the metal cushion clips at the edge of the seat surface using side cutters.

      2. 3.2.2. Disengage the plastic cushion clips at the center of the seat surface.
      3. 3.2.3. Remove cover -9-  from the padding -arrow A-  .
      4. 3.2.4. Remove remaining pieces of metal cushion clips.
