Installing Flywheel - PDK Transmission

→ Avoid contact with caustic fluid.

→ Wear personal protective gear.

→ Ensure that there is good ventilation.

→ If you do come into contact, wash off immediately with plenty of warm water and contact a doctor if necessary.

1. Remove protective wax on new parts with acetone or solvent naphtha.

   Information 

   Before re-installing the flywheel, clean the friction surface of the flywheel using a clean, lint-free cloth soaked in acetone or solvent naphtha).

2. Position the flywheel on the crankshaft dowel pin and press it onto the crankshaft flange.
   1. 2.1. Fit ten new (M10 x 29 internal serration) fastening screws and tighten evenly in diagonally opposite sequence.
3. Toothed segment 9538/1 -1-  must be inserted in order to counter at the starter ring gear.
   1. 3.1. Place toothed segment on the sloping cast edge of the cylinder housing.

4. Tighten fastening screws evenly in diagonally opposite sequence according to the tightening specifications.
   1. 4.1. Check that the toothed segment is fitted correctly.
   2. 4.2. → Initial tightening: 25 Nm (19 ftlb.) 
   3. 4.3. → Final tightening - torque angle: 120°

      2. Torque wrench/torque angle wrench with socket-wrench insert for internal serration screws
