Removing Coolant Pump

Information 

• To ease removal, spray the pulley from the rear side with an anti-corrosion agent. 

1. Loosen the three fastening screws on the coolant pump pulley. Block the pulley with a > Nr.38 - holder or > Nr.193 - brace if necessary or if the belt drive is removed.

2. Detach drive belt from water pump. For details, see > 137819 REMOVING AND INSTALLING DRIVE BELT
   NOTE: NOTIFICATION 
   Incorrect handling of pulley 

   • Risk of damage to pulley 

     → The pulley is sensitive to impact. Do not prise off the pulley with a screwdriver.

     → Do not re-use a damaged pulley.

3. Unscrew the three loosened fastening screws on the pulley > Pulley  and remove the pulley.
4. Unscrew the fastening screws > Coolant pump mounting -3-  on coolant pump.

5. Remove the coolant pump.

6. If the pump is stuck, loosen it by gently tapping with a plastic hammer. > Loosening coolant pump with a plastic hammer
