Installing Cooling Fan Housing (Radiator Frame)

WARNING: Electrically moved components 
  • Danger of limbs being trapped or severed 

    → Switch off electric power to drive motor.

    → Make sure it does not switch on again.

    → Check that there is no electric charge.

  1. Carefully press the cooling water hose aside and slide the cooling fan housing carefully into the engine compartment along the radiator from top to bottom.
  2. Check that it is fitted correctly. To do this, check that the locking springs on the left and right have engaged properly and that the three fastening lugs on the underside have engaged in the plastic clips.
  3. Fit holder -5-  for pressure pipe at the left.
    1. 3.1 Tighten fastening screw -7-  on the holder -5-  at the cooling fan housing to > Tightening torque 4.5 (3 ftlb.) Nm  .

    2. 3.2 Position the pressure pipe on the holder -5-  and secure with a circlip -4-  .

  4. Plug in electric plug connection -8-  at the cooling water hose until it engages securely.

  5. Plug in electric plug connection -6-  for fan on the cooling fan housing and lock it -a-  .

  6. Install pressure pipe at the right.
    1. 6.1 Insert pressure pipe at the right into the charge-air cooler.
    2. 6.2 Position pressure pipe at the right on the holder -5-  and secure with a circlip -4-  .

    3. 6.3 Tighten two fastening screws on the pressure pipe at the right for the charge-air cooler to > Tightening torque 5.5 Nm  .

    4. 6.4 Insert the vent hose -2-  into the pressure pipe -1-  at the right until it engages securely.

  7. Clip electric lines into the brackets.
