Coolant Gelling After Extreme Engine Overheating

Concern: Engine coolant can turn to a thick gel after being extremely overheated. 

Information: When an engine has been extremely overheated, the coolant can turn to a gel. In these cases, the old coolant must be thoroughly flushed from the system and replaced with new coolant. Failure to do so could block passages in the radiator and other hoses and lines. In the event of multiple complaints of the engine running hot or overheating, all lines and hoses must be checked for obstruction or possible gelled coolant blocking the lines or passages.
