Removing Retaining Bracket For Support Tube

  1. Remove inner rear wheel housing. → Removing Inner Rear Wheel Housing 
  2. Remove rear luggage compartment floor panel. → Removing Rear Trunk Floor Panel (Section) 

    Information 

    Only make the cut on the retaining bracket for the support tube in marked area A between the openings. The cut must never go through the openings.

  3. Determining the cut
    1. 3.1. Determine the position of the cut in area -A-  between the openings (holes). Mark the cut.

  4. Cutting through retaining bracket for support tube
    1. 4.1. Cut through retaining bracket for support tube in area -A-  .

  5. Milling off spotwelds
    1. 5.1. Mill off spotwelds in area -A-  using a spotweld cutter.

  6. Separating welded joints
    1. 6.1. Separate spotwelds in area -A-  using a parting grinder.
    2. 6.2. Separate inert-gas welded seams in area -B-  using a parting grinder.
