Installing Drive Shaft: Notes

Information 

• Screws are Dacromet-coated and must not be greased. 
• Grease the toothing of the drive shaft lightly with Optimoly HT. 
• To prevent damage to the drive shaft, slide a protective tube (shop-made) over the drive shaft. 
• Use new screws and lock nuts. 
• Observe correct tightening torques →  Tightening Torques For Rear Axle  
• Always check the bellows for damage and replace them if necessary if you intend to continue using the drive shaft. 

1. Install drive shaft.
   1. 1.1. Guide in drive shaft and screw in and tighten the six bolts between the drive shaft and transmission flange.

      6-speed manual transmission

      → Tightening torque: 81 Nm (60 ftlb.) 

      Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK)

      → Tightening torque: 81 Nm (60 ftlb.)

      Counter using special tool adapter plate 9510/1  (-1-  ).
