Characteristics:  4-piston fixed calliper with two bars  Brake pads with sliding plate Symptom:  Brake noise (squealing) on front axle during braking, just before the vehicle stops, when the brake pedal is pressed lightly. Remedial action:  Remedial action 1  Grease the sliding plate -1-  (on brake pads with a small sliding plate) in the contact surface area of the brake pistons with Interflon HT (Part No. 999.917.565.40). Relates only to brake-pad repair kits 997.351.938.03, 997.351.938.04 and 997.351.938.19. Brake-pad backing plate with small sliding plate  Remedial action 2  Install brake pads with a large sliding plate (on the backing plate) -1-  . These brake pads with a large sliding plate (on the backing plate) -1-  have integrated grease pockets. As a result, the contact surface area of the brake pistons does not need to be greased with Interflon HT  .
