Information On Using The Central Wheel-Alignment Adapters WE 1371 On The 911 GT3
When aligning 911 GT vehicles, rim runout compensation is not required provided the wheel-alignment adapter WE1371 is used in accordance with instructions. This means: Position the central adapter on the flat part of the wheel -1- , not on the wheel bolt -2- (as on the 911 Turbo).
- Contact surface (on wheel) on the 911 GT3 for the central adapter -Nr. 1- (not on the 911 Turbo)
- Contact surface (on wheel bolt) for spacer ring -Nr. 2- in conjunction with the central adapter -Nr. 1- on the 911 Turbo
- Fit measured-value pickups or measuring reflectors, in conjunction with the wheel-alignment adapters WE 1371 (possibly with 50/100- mm long spoiler adapters) on the wheels.
All contact surfaces (on the central adapters and wheels) must be clean and flat. Always check the flat surfaces in particular before fitting the central adapters.
- 1 - Central adapter WE 1371 (without spacer ring)
- 3 - Screw (toggle)
- 4 - Spoiler adapter
- 5 - Measured-value pickup
- 1.1. Carefully lever the crested hub cap out using a small screwdriver. To do this, fit the screwdriver into the opening groove. Stick adhesive tape on the screwdriver if necessary to ensure that the screwdriver does not scratch the screw surface.
- 1.2. Fit the central adapter -1-
on the wheel (on the M8 thread in the middle of the lockable wheel bolt). All contact surfaces (central adapter and wheel) must be perfectly clean and flat.
Position the central adapter -1- , fit the short fastening screw (M8 x 40) and tighten hand-tight. (Tightening torque: max. 15 Nm/11 ftlb.). When tightening the screw, hold the central adapter -1- securely (to prevent it from turning) so as not to damage the paintwork on the wheel.
- 1.3. Do the same on the other wheels (to fit the remaining central adapters).
- 1.4. Fit measured-value pickups -5- or measuring reflectors, possibly with spoiler adapters (50/100 mm long) -4- , on the central adapters -1- .
- Following wheel alignment, check or ensure that the lockable wheel bolt is locked. Do not fit the crested hub cap until you have done this
.
- 2.1. Remove the wheel-alignment adapter and check that the locking pin on the lockable wheel bolt -arrow-
is still engaged in the central bolt. The end of the locking pin is then flush with the inner toothing of the central bolt -item 1-
.
If the locking pin is still in the rear position, the pin must be turned to the left and right using a square until it engages in the central bolt -item 1- .
Never drive the vehicle when the locking pin is not engaged (risk of damage and danger of accidents).
- 2.2. Fit the crested hub cap -1- into the central bolt so that the positioning finger is in the opening groove. Then press the cap in until it is seated securely. Grease the rubber ring on the cap lightly beforehand if necessary.
