Fault code 7: Diagnosis/troubleshooting

DIAGNOSIS/TROUBLESHOOTING (FAULT CODE 7)

1 Check central locking switch.
  • Switch off the ignition.
  • Pull plug A off the control module.
  • Pull plug off central locking switch.
  • Switch on ignition.
  • Measure voltage between plug A on alarm system control module pin 29 and ground.

Repair wiring harness.

2 Check central locking switch.
  • Measure resistance between pins 1 and 2 of plug for central locking switch.
Approx. 180 at 20 °C.
Step 3
Replace resistor or repair wiring harness.

3 Check operating points of central locking switch.
  • Measure resistance between pins 3 and A1 on central locking switch.
  • Measure resistance between pins 4 and 2 on central locking switch.
Central locking switch not actuated to open.
Central locking switch actuated to Open.

  • Measure resistance between pins 4 and 1 on central locking switch.
Central locking switch not actuated to "closed".
