Teaching hand-held transmitter: Procedure
- Connect the vehicle keys and the new hand-held transmitter and insert in the ignition.
- Connect the Porsche System Tester II 9588 and switch on the ignition.
- Select Alarm system in the menu and press the double arrow key "FORWORD".
- Select Learning function in the menu and press the double arrow key "FORWORD".
- Select Transponder key in the menu and press the double arrow key "FORWORD".
- Input key learning code appears on the screen. Enter the key learning code with the arrow keys and press the double arrow key "FORWORD".
- Please confirm input appears on the screen. Check your entry and press the F7 key to confirm the input.
- Differentiate between teaching an additional hand-held transmitter and the loss or faulty operation of a transponder.
- 8a) Teaching an additional hand-held transmitter
Select a free position (1, 2, 3 or 4) with the arrow key and press the F8 key.
The transponder code is now stored at the selected position. Note the position of the new transponder code.
- 8b) Teaching in the case of a lost or faulty hand-held transmitter
CAUTION: Risk of theft due to lost hand-held transmitter!NOTE:- The adjustment function of the seat, mirror and lumbar positions via the hand-held transmitter is correct only if the radio code and the transponder code of a hand-held transmitter are each stored at the same position in the alarm system control module.

In this case, it is first necessary to identify and delete the stored transponder code of the lost or faulty hand-held transmitter. - Press the double arrow key "BACKWORD", select the Remote control menu item and press the double arrow key "FORWORD".
- Input key learning code appears on the screen. Enter the key learning code with the arrow keys and press the double arrow key "FORWORD".
- Please confirm input appears on the screen. Check your entry and press the F7 key to confirm the input.
- Distinguish between loss and fault and additional hand-held transmitter for the radio code.
- 12a) Teaching an additional hand-held transmitter:
Select the same position (1 to 4) as for the transponder key and press the F8 key.
- 12b) Teaching in the case of a lost or faulty hand-held transmitter:
In this case, it is first necessary to identify and delete the stored "radio code" of the lost or faulty hand-held transmitter. The remaining hand-held transmitters are required for this purpose.
Press the locking button on the hand-held transmitter and then insert the vehicle key into the ignition lock, switch on the ignition and establish communication with the control module.
The radio code of the hand-held transmitter that was last used to unlock the vehicle is displayed under Current radio code.
Compare this radio code with the radio codes at positions 1 to 4. This comparison allows the position of the lost hand-held transmitter (radio code) to be identified, as one radio code is ultimately left over at positions 1 to 4.
Insert the vehicle key equipped with the new hand-held transmitter into the ignition lock and switch on the ignition. Establish communication with the control module. Select the identified position with the arrow keys and delete the radio code with the F3 key. Then press the F8 key.
- 12a) Teaching an additional hand-held transmitter:
- Carefully enter the 24-digit code number with the arrow keys and press the double arrow key "FORWORD".
- Please confirm input appears on the screen. Check the input and press the F7 key.
- Now the hand-held transmitter is taught. Go back to the Learning function menu item, remove the key and switch on the ignition again. Once the key has been removed again, the hand-held transmitter is ready for use. Check that the hand-held transmitter operates correctly.
