Removing the electrohydraulic control unit

NOTE:

Do not let engine run with the ATF pan removed or without ATF filling.

Remove rear underside panel.
Remove cross member.

Disengage the coolant lines at the fastening points.

Disengage cable on the retaining clips of the ATF pan.
Disengage the coolant hoses in the area of the flanged shaft.

Pull vacuum pipe off the switch-over valve.
Undo the left drive flange on the transmission side.
Remove the holders for the coolant hoses.

Unlock the plug connection by turning it to the left and pull out the plug.

Unscrew the fastening screw for the pilot bushing using special tool assembly aid 9663 and pull out the bushing.

Place oil collection pan under the transmission.
Unscrew drain screw -A- and drain ATF.

Remove ATF pan (loosen screws crosswise).
Remove ATF filter.

Place selector lever in position - P - and unscrew the fastening screws for the control unit.
