Removing Filler Neck

→ Avoid contact with hot parts or sources of ignition.

→ Use suction to remove ignitable vapors.

→ Attach warning sign in a clearly visible position.

1. Place a warning sign in a clearly visible position in the work area or on the vehicle.

2. Remove the tank tray.

   1. 2.1. Open the tank cap.
   2. 2.2. Pull off the ground strap -1-  .
   3. 2.3. Unclip overflow hose on tank tray -3-  and set it aside.
   4. 2.4. Unclip the locking lugs on the tank tray -2-  and pull out the tank tray -2-  .
3. Remove the holder.

   1. 3.1. Loosen internal Torx screw (T30) M6 x 20 -4-  for the body (in the wheel arch).
   2. 3.2. Unscrew two M6 x 20 hexagon-head bolts -5-  on the filler neck holder.
4. Carrera 4 only:  Disconnect rapid-action coupling at the filler neck.

   Release the rapid-action coupling -1-  and pull it off the breather pipe -3-  for the filler neck -2-  .

5. Remove filler neck.

   1. 5.1. Loosen and remove the cap.
   2. 5.2. Mask the assembly opening around the tank cap with adhesive tape -1-  to prevent damage to the paintwork and body.
   3. 5.3. Turn the filler neck -2-  at the top and bottom alternately and carefully pull it out underneath the edge of the wing.
   4. 5.4. Replace seal on the filler neck.
