Installing Filler Neck

Information 

Replace seal at filler neck.

1. Coat filler neck lightly with new engine oil in the assembly area in front of the seal.
2. Install filler neck.

   1. 2.1. Guide filler neck -2-  with a new seal into the opening of the tank. Then turn the filler neck at the top and bottom alternately and place it in installation position.
3. Carrera 4 only:  Connect rapid-action coupling at the filler neck.

   Connect the rapid-action coupling -1-  on the breather pipe -3-  for the filler neck -2-  . The rapid-action coupling -1-  must lock with an audible click.

4. Install the tank tray.

   1. 4.1. Fit and clip in the tank tray -2-  .
   2. 4.2. Connect the overflow hose -3-  at the tank tray.
   3. 4.3. Connect the ground strap -1-  .
5. Install the holder.

   1. 5.1. Fit and tighten internal Torx screw (T30) M6 x 20 -4-  for the body (in the wheel arch).

      → Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.) 

   2. 5.2. Fit and tighten two M6 x 20 hexagon-head bolts -5-  on the filler neck holder.

      → Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.) 

6. Close the cap.
