Installing Exhaust Temperature Sensors

Information 

  1. Guide the exhaust temperature sensors and lines past the engine at the left and right.
    NOTE: Exhaust emissions temperature sensor fitted incorrectly
    • Risk of damage to components

    → Only use prescribed lubricant when installing the sensor.

    → Carefully check the thread for damage and smear the surface with Optimol MF Paste (Part No. 000.043.207.07).

  2. Fit exhaust temperature sensors at the turbochargers.
    1. 2.1. Lightly smear the thread with the prescribed grease.
    2. 2.2. Fit M12 union nuts (a/f 14) by hand and tighten.

      → Tightening torque: 35 Nm (26 ft. lb.) +/-3 Nm (+/-2 ft. lb.) 

  3. Route electric lines for the exhaust temperature sensors and clip them onto the holders.
  4. Connect control unit in the engine compartment at the left at the slot for the oxygen sensors.
