Installing Tailpipe Cover

Information 

Observe specified dimensions for installation position with respect to rear apron.

1. Grease sliding bases and silencer supports lightly with Optimoly HT (Part No. 000.043.004.00).
2. Slide tailpipe cover with new ball clamp onto the tailpipe.
3. Align tailpipe cover with respect to rear apron.

   1. Gap with respect to outer part of rear apron: → Gap dimension: 24 mm 
   2. Gap with respect to top of rear apron: → Gap dimension: 29 mm

   1. Gap with respect to outer part of rear apron: → Gap dimension: 23 mm 
   2. Gap with respect to top of rear apron: → Gap dimension: 27 mm

   Information 

   If the engine mountings (hydraulic mounts) are to be replaced, the gap dimension to be set with respect to the upper rear apron is reduced by 1.5 mm because of the settling behavior of the mountings

4. Secure ball clamp for tailpipe cover. → Torque: 30 Nm (22 ft. lb.)
