Clamp differential lock.
Clamp differential lock using Clamping Jaws 9646 into the vice.

Mark installation position of cover.
Mark installation position of cover -8- relative to the housing for reinstallation.
Remove bearing outer race.
1. 3.1. Remove left bearing outer race (large).
  Heat cover for differential up to approx. → Temperature: 120°C (248 °F) and push out left bearing outer race (large).
2. 3.2. Remove right bearing outer race (small).
  Drive out with aluminum or copper mandrel, changing sides.
Detach taper roller bearing.
1. 4.1. Detach taper roller bearing (large) -1- using suitable extractor, Pressure Pieces 9656 and Pressure Piece P254B .

2. 4.2. Detach taper roller bearing (small) -3- using suitable extractor, Pressure Pieces 9656 and Pressure Piece P254B .

1. 5.1. Undo screws -5- for crown wheel -2- .
2. 5.2. Press off crown wheel -2- from differential housing -1- .
Remove differential cover.
Undo countersunk-head screws -7- , remove cover -8- and remove all internal parts. Mark thrust rings -13, 17- for refitting.
