• If the output shaft and crown wheel have to be adjusted, it is best to follow the sequence below in the interest of rational working:

1. S1  - Shim thickness for left taper roller bearing
2. S2  - Shim thickness for right taper roller bearing
3. S3  - Shim thickness for cylindrical-roller bearing on output shaft
4. S4  - Shim thickness for four-point bearing (large)
5. S5  - Shim thickness for four-point bearing (small)

1. Measure differential (total shim thickness -S1-  and -S2-  ).
2. Measure and adjust output shaft (shim thickness -S4-  and -S5-  ).
3. Measure and adjust output shaft (shim thickness -S3-  ).
4. Adjust differential (total shim thickness -S1-  and -S2-  ).
5. Check bevel gear/crown wheel pairing (tooth backlash).
